New line of glasses made especially
to properly fit children with
Down Syndrome!
SPECS4US was created and founded in 2004 by Maria Dellapina
with over 25 years in the optical industry and the mother of a four-year-old
with Down Syndrome. She saw a definite need for this frame line. After
two years of searching for an eyeglass frame to fit her daughter, Erin,
Maria decided to use her knowledge as both an optician and mother to
help Erin and others like her.
“Erin’s World” is the frame line specially designed to fit
children with Down syndrome superior to the typical frame. Unlike other frames,
the bridge is adjusted to fit on their smaller noses and the temples (some
people call them arms) are designed to help keep the glasses from constantly
slipping. These frames come in 5 styles and each style comes in 3 colors and
sizes.

HELPING
PATIENTS.ORG
About This Site
PhRMA and its member companies are proud to present HelpingPatients.org,
an interactive Web site that provides a comprehensive one-stop link to
thousands of medicines offered through hundreds of patient assistance
programs sponsored by member companies, non-member companies and government
and local organizations.
A number of our companies have pledged that no patient
in need of their medicines will go without them. Our companies have long
been worldwide leaders not only in pharmaceutical innovation, but also
in philanthropic initiatives - and their long-standing patient assistance
programs have been especially helpful.
HelpingPatients.org helps direct patients to the patient
assistance program that will best serve them. HelpingPatients.org also
contains a database of all the member companies that conduct these programs
and the medicines that are covered. It also describes how to request
assistance. The application process and eligibility requirements vary
for each company and program.

Finding some
Comfort...

The link to this page was sent to us by Michael Riley,
a dear friend and prayer warrior for the Disabilities Ministries. We
all have times when we feel alone and desperate, "God Walks With
Me," is a comfort for those times. The author of the poem is Joni
Kassel, she is another friend and prayer warrior in our website ministry.
Joni is battling cancer and still reaches out and prays for people that
have needs. Heaven_online is her website. Please check it out.

Dorothy Sadick
We all have a close friend or relative that has had cancer,
or is currently being treated for it. Dorothy Sadick is one of my heroes...she
conquered cancer and then brought smiles to the faces of other cancer
patients. The picture above this paragraph was taken in a chemo ward,
it shows her doing what she does best...reflecting hope.
Call her Chemo Clown, or Chemo Angel...
it's all the same...she answers to both.
I call her daughter.
This special website encourages us all to make a difference in a
positive way. Dorothy does, and so can we.
